Dimensions Newsletter - April 2005
From the Prez:
· Susan Spar’s demonstration was soooo… good. We had to take away the chairs for the next group and still had members standing around watching her for another ten minutes.
· Jim Yount has been busy working on our website. If you have a computer and are online take a look at it. The website is www.sequimarts.org. I want to thank Jim for all his hard work and for sharing his vast knowledge with us.
· Can you believe it is already April? I hope everyone is getting their art ready for the Member’s Show. Anyone who is a member may enter. Let’s make this the best show ever!
“Why not go out on a limb? That’s where the fruit is.” Mark Twain
Happy Creating,
Linda Stadtmiller, President · lstadtmiller@tenforward.com · 681-4884
MARCH MEETING
Many thanks to Susan Spar for a wonderful slide show of her work and a truly illuminating (love that pun) landscape demo. We appreciate her sharing her thinking methodology. The color mixing and blending techniques demonstrated captures light and enhances the beauty in her pastel paintings.
APRIL MEETING
Thursday, April 28, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 525 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim. Doors open at 9:30 AM for coffee and the meeting starts at 10 AM.
Featured Artist Demonstration
Pat Sandman is an excellent instructor and an avid and very accomplished oils painter. She also enjoys landscaping. Her demonstration will be a portrait in oils and she’s hoping one of the men with an interesting face will volunteer to sit for the portrait.
APRIL BOARD MEETING
Thursday April 7, 10 AM, at Linda Stadtmiller’s house, 168 Madigan Place, in Sequim.
WEBSITE
In the past month our webmaster, Jim Yount, has added a new “Arts Links” page to our website. It is provided as a service to the visual arts community of the Olympic Peninsula. You will find information for Northwind Arts Center, Sequim Arts and Clallam Art League, including their newsletters, on this page. All members should think about putting their artwork and a brief personal biography on the website. The cost is nominal and it’s a wonderful way to show your art to the world.
